There was a time I was making a nice living doing SHIPT full-time, but those days have faded. And the number of shops has also dropped 25%. To sum up the earnings, my per shop average income has dropped 20-25%. The orders, on average, are much smaller which leads to smaller potential tips. The base pay structure changed and is no longer transparent (and lower pay) gas has doubled and fewer households use SHIPT on a regular basis. Skip ahead 2+ years and a lot has changed. You were able to be as busy as you wanted to be. When the pandemic began there were more shops than shoppers and SHIPT offered nice bonuses for certain orders that couldn’t be filled because of the overflow.
Went full time 6 months later, right before the pandemic. Flexible hours, no pressure, and space to learn the job. Remember you are an asset.ģ years ago when I first started SHIPT was a God-send. Do this on your spare time or if you need a break from… reality. But I suggest you don’t quit your regular job. I have enjoyed working for this company because I clear my mind and make good pay As a side job. They answer less thrn 30 seconds always and always have a solution to an issue which I appreciate. Shipt is very helpful when you call for help with anything. I usually don’t even care for a tip because I get paid for an order but for them to give a low rating when we completed their order correctly is outrageous when their cars are parked in their driveway. Also they get fiesty when we are late knowing they ordered 20+ items that the store may not have or are not in the designated section. I feel it should be left in lobby like other packages. The floor, the area and them wanting us to Cary 6+ bags to their floors. Poor communication especially when delivering packages to apartment buildings. Sometimes they take their time to respond. The ratings is kind of unfair especially because I feel customers can be quit difficult at times. Overall Shipt is a relaxed job to have because it legit is on your own time.
